| Message: What happens at the background check? Do we need to bring any info like references, job history, etc? How long does it typically take to do? Should we dress up or just regular street clothes? |

It all depends on who you are going up against. Other people may have higher scores, but may have recrods which won't lead them to a career. Test scores only come in to play at the very end. Then it's whoever tested better.

Just because you told the truth doesnt mean you get to move on in the process? Police departments have certain standards and if you do not meet those standards, ie drug/alcohol use, employment history, criminal history, etc.. IT'S SIMPLE YOU DON...

Your answers can be the basis of rejection--especially if you have done some bad things in the past. Assaults, drugs, gangs, excessive drinking--all of these can get you bounced right from the polygraph

I was in the 120th but didn't get selected...I know some people that did make it into the 120th that should have no business being a cop, but that just goes to show that the investigators don't do half as good as the regular municipal investi...
